Casual data visualisation analyst/programmer

CECS is currently looking for a data visualisation analyst/programmer to work in a small project team to research and undertake data analysis and build data visualisations to inform decision making and bring data to life for end users.

This is an opportunity suitable for students interested in casual project work.

The position will involve:

  • Developing and testing Python applications in an operational setting
  • Data wrangling
  • Understanding data requirements and/or complex systems and implementing them in Python
  • Creating web-based visualisation dashboards to present an accurate summary of information.
  • Develop and implement databases, data collection systems, data analytics and other strategies that optimise statistical efficiency and quality
  • Acquire data from primary and secondary data sources and maintain databases/data systems
  • Liaison with diverse stakeholders

The ideal candidate will have experience with Python and back-end website architecture. Experience in data analytics, data visualisation and user-facing dashboards would be highly regarded.
