Innovation in the Age of Connectivity

First the Cloud, then IOT and now AI

The rapid deployment of applications for smart phones, laptops and tablets alike has accompanied by seismic changes in the way services are provided to the connected devices universe. The talk will focus on how these cloud-based services enabled a true software-based entrepreneurship. It showed that novel ideas could be rapidly prototyped and implemented with minimal investment. This point of view is now also enabling IoT beyond the personal cloud. Combined with AI and machine learning it is now opening the way to truly intelligent devices and advanced services: connected cars, AR/VR, personal assistants, advanced manufacturing etc. The talk will review these different elements and identify how their combinations create some of the technology challenges and opportunities for the next decade.
