The Leadership | Film Screening and Panel Discussion

Set against the planet’s last untouched wilderness, THE LEADERSHIP unearths troubling systemic obstacles to women’s advancement in science.

The world is crying out for a new model of leadership, but what is it? THE LEADERSHIP is an award-winning documentary that follows an international group of 76 female scientists on an Antarctic voyage designed to transform them “into the sort of leaders they want to be.”

The ANU College of Engineering and Computer Science, ANU Gender Institute, and the Global Institute for Women in Leadership are proud to co-host a free National Science Week screening of THE LEADERSHIP, followed by a panel discussion of experts who will offer their own insights on leadership in science.

With closing remarks from ANU Vice-Chancellor, Professor Brian Schmidt, this will be an evening of meaningful reflection on the leadership needed to meet global challenges in 2022 and beyond.

Arrive from 5:30pm for the screening, which will start at 6pm. The panel discussion will commence after the screening, from 7:45pm.

Please note that to keep our community safe, masks will be required to attend this in-person event. Please cancel your ticket if you are feeling unwell, or are a close contact of a positive COVID case.
