Isaac Manuel has something in common with 43 Nobel Laureates. He has recently been awarded a Fulbright Scholarship.
Worth $15,000 the Science and Innovation Graduate Award will be used to fund a research-intensive, one-off trip to America.
Isaac recently started his PhD at ANU in the College of Engineering and Computer Science.
“I am excited about the opportunity of doing my PhD at two world-leading universities, also I think that experiencing life in America will be something that I’ll never forget,” Isaac said.
“At the moment I don’t have a university lined up in America. My supervisor and I are waiting until I have got stuck in to a research problem before we pick a place to go. I think that it is more important to go to America to learn from a particular person rather than to attend a particular university.”
Isaac’s thesis focusses on the estimation and filtering of stochastic systems.
