Entry information
Academic requirements
You can check the specific entry requirements for your degree on Programs and Courses.
Your current GPA will be converted to an ANU GPA scale of 7.0, taking into account a wide range of factors. This includes your home university ranking, grading system, geographical region, etc. Learn more about the assessment process of your application.
English language requirements
All applicants will also need to meet our University's English language requirements.
You can meet these based on prior study, citizenship status, or through an English language test.
Partnerships and advanced standing
We partner with a variety of international institutions. Our College welcomes students with advanced standing (or 'credit transfer') into select engineering and computer science programs at ANU.

How to apply
As an international student, you can apply directly to the ANU or use one of our official international agents located around the world.
If you are a student from one of our partner universities, email study.cecc@anu.edu.au to verify the best way to apply to ANU and be assessed for credits.
ANU admits students twice a year: in Semester 1 (February) and Semester 2 (July).
You can apply at any time throughout the year. Most applications submitted before the 15th day of each month will be considered for an offer on the 1st day of the following month. You will have two months to accept your offer from ANU.
You can only apply for one program, although you can change your preference during the application process. The change of preference can be done between the 9th and 15th day of each month.
You need to meet the pre-requisite, cognate, and English language requirements for your program by the application deadline for the round, as we will not issue any conditional offers.
You will be ranked against other candidates applying for the same program and places are limited. Learn more about the ANU assessment process

Accepting an offer
If you applied direct to ANU you will need to complete the 'Acceptance & Payment' form attached to your offer email.
If you applied through the Universities Admissions Centre, complete the 'Offer Acceptance Declaration and Payment Form'. Scan these and return them to acceptance@anu.edu.au.

Scholarships
ANU scholarships range from large awards that will help cover your tuition fees, to smaller stipends that are designed to simply take the sting out of paying for your accommodation or text books. We have a wide range of scholarships available.

Applicants for year 2023 will be considered for the prestigious ANU Chancellor's International Scholarships.
There is no separate application process for scholarships at ANU. International applicants are automatically considered based on the eligibility criteria.

Future Research Talent awards
Students from India or Indonesia who will undertake a research project at ANU may be eligible to apply for a Future Research Talent (FRT) award.
These are jointly offered by ANU College of Engineering, Computing and Cybernetics, ANU College of Science, and ANU College of Health and Medicine.

Fees
International students are required to pay tuition fees, and the services and amenities fee. Indicative costs by program or tuition fees for individual courses, are available on the relevant Programs and Courses entry.
The amount you have to pay is based on the courses you enrol in. Each course has a set fee, so you will be invoiced for each the courses you enrol in each semester or session.
In addition to accommodation costs, you will also have other costs to consider when moving out of home to study at university. It's a good idea to make a list of your expenses, and draw up a budget. Allow about $400 AUD per week to cover food, accommodation, transport, electricity, internet, telephone bills, and entertainment.

Support services
The ANU community will support you to settle in your life in Australia. You can speak to our ANU Careers Centre to explore ideas to take your career to the next level, get academic writing help from the Academic Skills and Learning Centre, or simply chat with your program convener about your study materials.
The ANU College of Engineering, Computing and Cybernetics also has affiliations with clubs and societies such as the ANU Engineering Students Association, Computer Science Students Association, Fifty50, Robogals, and Engineers without Borders.
If you're new to the ANU, we recommend the Set4ANU mentorship program. You will be paired with a current student who will help you settle in Canberra.
Accommodation
ANU gives you more opportunities to live on campus than any other Australian university, so you can make the most of your time here. You may join nearly 6,000 students from around the world on our campus, or rent an apartment or house privately.
