This position involved chairing meetings of the UNSW@ADFA Engineering Board of Studies which took formal responsibility for the undergraduate engineering programs at ADFA. The position also involved acting as the ADFA representative on the Australian Council of Engineering Deans. In addition, the position involved coordinating the accreditation process for the ADFA engineering programs through the Institution of Engineers Australia.
Executive Director, Mathematics, Information and Communications for the Australian Research Council, 2002-2004.
This position involved co-ordinating ARC funding in the area of Mathematics, Information and Communications (including most of Electrical Engineering). I was in charge of the ARC Mathematics, Information and Communications expert panel and ARC administrative staff in this area. The position also involved co-ordinating the ARC Linkage Infrastructure and Equipment program.
UNSW Acting Deputy Vice-Chancellor (Research) August 2004 - March 2005.
This position involved co-ordinating the research of the University at a Senior Management level. The position involved acting as the ADFA representative on the Australian Council of Engineering Deans. In addition, the position involved coordinating the accreditation process for the ADFA engineering programs through Engineers Australia.
Acting Associate Dean Research, UNSW@ADFA, August 2006 - February 2007.
This position involved co-ordinating the internal research funding programs at ADFA. It also involved responsibility for the ADFA Research and Research Training Office. While acting in this position, I was a member of the Senior Management Committee at ADFA.
General Chair, 2015 IEEE Multi-Conference on Systems and Control, 2010-2015
This position involved coordination of a major conference of the IEEE Control Systems Society.
Vice President for Technical Activities, Asian Control Association (ACA) 2014-present
This position involves overseeing of the technical activities of the ACA. The major technical activity of the ACA is the bi-annual Asian Control Conference and my role as VP for Technical Activities has involved overseeing the process of choosing the location for future conferences.
