Dr Jennyfer Lawrence Taylor FHEA

Dr Jennyfer Lawrence Taylor is a Lecturer in Human-Computer Interaction (HCI) at the ANU School of Computing.
Her research interests are design sustainability, technology design for climate action and community resilience to natural disasters, techology co-design for Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander language revitalisation, and research ethics in computer science. Jennyfer’s work takes human-centred, user centred, and collaborative design (co-design) approaches. She co-leads the Risk, Vulnerability, and Resilience research cluster at the ANU Institute for Climate, Energy, and Disaster Solutions (ICEDS).
Jennyfer completed her PhD at Queensland University of Technology (QUT) on the co-design digital and tangible technologies to support the revitalisation of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander languages. She holds a Bachelor of Arts/Bachelor of Information Technology from ANU, majoring in anthropology and information systems, and Information Technology Honours from QUT. Jennyfer has also completed a Certificate IV in Government and was employed in the public sector for a number of years.
She was a member of the ANU Human Research Ethics Committee (HREC) from 2021-2022, a Co-Chair of the ANU Science and Medical Delegated Ethical Review Committee (DERC) from 2021-2022, and a Co-General Chair of the 24th Australian Conference on Human-Computer Interaction (OzCHI’22).
Please note: Jennyfer is not supervising undergraduate, Honours, and Masters coursework student projects in Semester 1, 2023. Prospective MPhil and PhD students can still contact her by email.
