Matt Cousins

College General Manager

Matthew Cousins, often referred to as Matt, holds the position of College General Manager at the ANU College of Engineering, Computing, and Cybernetics (CECC). As an integral member of the College Executive, Matt offers strategic guidance and leadership to facilitate the efficient functioning of College operations. His association with ANU commenced in 2004 when he joined as a Finance Officer. Over the years, Matt’s roles evolved, he transitioned into the position of School Manager in 2011 at the Research School of Engineering. Later, in 2014, he assumed the role of Business Manager at the John Curtin Research and Medical School (JCSMR). During his tenure at JCSMR, he took on additional responsibilities as the Interim Associate Director – Operations within the Facilities and Services Division and also as Interim General Manager at the College of Health and Medicine.

With a remarkable 18-year professional journey spanning across education and government sectors, Matt brings a wealth of experience to his current role. He holds a Bachelor’s Degree in Business Administration and has also completed the General Managers Program at the University of Cambridge as well as the Executive Education Program at the Harvard Business School. His enthusiasm for people, adeptness in financial management and operations, and collaborative leadership approach define his contributions. As the College General Manager, Matt is dedicated to enhancing community engagement, aligning with the College’s vision to lead the realisation of ANU 2025.

Beyond his professional commitments, Matt embraces the role of a dad of to two daughters, Millie and Emma. This facet of his life highlights his commitment to family and underscores the well-rounded nature of his personality.
