Description
We are continuously seeking excellent students who want to carry out a PhD study at ANU in the fields of wireless communications, communication networks and information theory. Desired academic background: strong analytical and mathematical skills with background in the general field of communications and networks. ANU has its main round of international PhD scholarship applications due in August and domestic PhD scholarship applications due in October. In addition, another round of scholarship applications for both international and domestic applicants are due in March/April. Prospective students who are willing to apply for scholarships in these rounds are encouraged to contact potential supervisors at least one month before the deadline. In addition to the university scholarship, individual academic staff often have research fund available to support extra scholarships which may be offered any time throughout the year. The scholarship is at the rate of approximately AUD$29,000 per annum tax free. The normal duration of a full-time PhD study at ANU is 3 year to 3.5 years. Teaching assistant duties are optional and will be paid with extra salary. Apart from the scholarship, extra funding is available to support conference travels and overseas university visits.
