The College of Engineering and Computer Science invites prospective Higher Degree by Research (HDR) students to apply for an ANU PhD/University Research Scholarship/Research Training Program (RTP) scholarship (International) to support their Doctor of Philosophy or Master of Philosophy program of study. The College offers research in a wide range of disciplines including the Engineering theme areas of Energy, Fabrication, Information and Materials and the Computer Science theme areas of Intelligence, Systems and Theory.
Each scholarship will provide a full stipend for three years, with the possibility of a six-month extension after that period. The scholarship includes additional benefits including relocation expense reimbursement and an additional sum to cover costs associated with the production of the final PhD thesis. For more information on the benefits included in an ANU PhD scholarship, please see the example Conditions of Award.
PhD students in the College work very closely with an academic supervisor and a panel of advisers with expertise in their chosen field of research. They also have the opportunity to access a broad range of specialist courses, attend seminars, conferences and summer schools, and to contribute to various undergraduate teaching activities. To support these activities, all PhD students in the College have access to $6000 AUD of professional development funding for the duration of their candidature.
Potential applicants should start by reviewing the pre-application process as per the College website. Once the applicant has secured support from aprospective supervisor in their research area they should review the instructions on the ANU application procedure, and submit their application via the ANU Application portal for either a Master of Philosophy or Doctor of Philosophy program.
