On Friday 17th May, the college hosted 60 female students from years 11 and 12 as part of the Girls in Engineering and Technology Program, GET Set.
The program is designed to provide information and hands on activities to female students who wish to explore an education and career pathway in engineering or computing.
The students came from over 15 local and interstate high schools and colleges to participate in workshops including Engineers Without Borders, artificial intelligence, solar energy and an introduction to biomaterials.
The participants were joined at lunch by current students, ANU graduate Clare Banks (BEng) who is currently working with CEA Technologies in Software Engineering and ANU Lecturer, Lynette Johns-Boast who discussed their experiences with ANU and engineering and computing.
Responses to the program were overwhelmingly positive, with the interactive workshops and lunch time talks proving very popular.
