The College of Engineering and Computer Science held their first Graduation Reception for mid-year graduands on Friday 19th July.
The event was held following the Conferring of Awards Ceremony and gave the College the opportunity to congratulate our recent graduands, celebrate their achievements with family, friends and staff, and welcome them to the ANU Alumni community.
Despite the weather on the day, over 150 College staff, graduating students and their guests arrived to enjoy lunch and a glass of champagne to celebrate the student’s achievements and network with fellow graduates and professors.
College Dean, Professor John Hosking congratulated the students, as did Henry Gardner, Director of the Research School of Computer Science. Nathan Robertson, an ANU graduate and IT Manager at Les Mills - a company famous for their international group fitness programs - also spoke about his time at ANU and the importance of maintaining a relationship with the College and fellow graduates.
“The skills ANU has taught its graduates will be timeless, so stay in touch with as many people as possible. I’ve hired around a dozen of my classmates from my time here, and if I needed leads for more, I know that keeping in touch with the university lecturers can help you get access to the best of the next generation.”
