On March 17 2016 Professor Robert Mahony and Johan Arnberg (International Marketing and Partnerships) from the Australian National University (ANU) visited the Beijing Institute of Technology (BIT) to review and discuss exchange partnerships opportunities at BIT. Gao Shan Deputy Director of the International Office of Academic Affairs and the Deputy Director Xu Jin from BIT were in attendence. The renewal was welcomed by both sides. The renewal cooperation enables students of BIT University to get advanced standing for selected programs at ANU.

Following the meeting with the Directors, Professor Mahony and Johan met with Vice President Fenghui Hua and other delegates from BIT to discuss joint PhDs, scholarships on offer, Research Corporation, and other partnership agreements that could be formed between BIT and ANU.

Later in the day the delegates from ANU gave a presentation to undergraduate students on campus. Johan highlighted the geographical environment, academic status, world rankings of ANU and he also elaborated on the research that is being undertaken at CECS. In attendance was Vice President of Network Wang Tao, Project Commissioner Wangxing Yan Xiaohand, as well as Chief of Academic Affairs, Lu Yao.

The students asked many questions in relation to scholarships at ANU, teaching methodology and questions on how to meet the entry requirements. The academic staff members and the students present at the meeting got a better understanding of ANU, the host were very pleased with the ANU delegation and their role in promoting ANU and College of Engineering and Computer Science.
