To wrap up the year, the ANU Engineering Students Association conducted their annual Staff Vs Student Soccer Game, the Natasha Linard Cup, on Thursday 26 October at Fellows Oval.

Despite the event being held in week 12, and weather forecasts predicting rain and thunderstorms, there was still a good turn out from both students and staff, thus allowed a game of 11 on side, with subs available for the players.

It was really fun to have the opportunity to see our academics in a different light and have a casual game of soccer with them. It was even better that we finally managed to avenge our loss from last year by winning 6-4 at the end of the day.

A massive thank you to everyone from the Engineering Students Association who played for the cup and helped us achieve our victory this year.

A big congratulations to our most valued player for this year’s cup Shohan De Silva. In addition, thank you to the staff for their support of the ESA and taking the time off their days to compete with us! In particular, Mr Nan Yang and Shihao Yan for helping disseminate information regarding the cup to the rest of the staff.

We hope that everyone who participated and supported the games this year had fun and we look forward to another match next year!
