3A Institute | Autonomy, Agency and Assurance Innovation Institute

The Autonomy, Agency and Assurance Innovation Institute (3A Institute) ambitions to bring together the world’s best researchers from around the world and a range of disciplines, to build a new applied science around the management of artificial intelligence, data and technology and of their impact on humanity.

The Australian National University (ANU) launched the 3A Institute on 4 September 2017, in collaboration with CSIRO’s Data61, for an initial duration of 5 years. By 2022, the 3A Institute aims to have set a new intellectual framework combining both theory and praxis in and to have built a curriculum to start training the first generation of certified practitioners of this new applied science.

ANU Professor Genevieve Bell, one of the world’s leading technologists and Senior Fellow at Intel Corporation, has been appointed as the 3A Institute Director.
