Nine ANU students have been selected for the Australian Government’s New Colombo Plan (NCP) Scholarships for 2018.
The NCP Scholarships gives Australian students the opportunity to study up to a year in the Indo-Pacific region, as well as the option to undertake an internship for a further six months.
Two of the ANU scholars, Aidan Myatt (ANU College of Asia and the Pacific) and Betty Xiong (ANU Joint College of Sciences and ANU College of Engineering and Computer Science), were also named as Fellows as the top students for their host countries.
ANU Vice-Chancellor Professor Brian Schmidt congratulated the scholarship winners.
“ANU has a strong global outlook with our graduates among the world’s most employable,” Professor Schmidt said.
“The New Colombo Plan is a wonderful initiative, exposing students to new ideas and different cultures. The University strongly supports opportunities for students to live and study in another country.
