Associate Professor Yuerui Lu has been named as one of the recipients of the Heart Foundation’s Future Leader Fellowships.

Professor Lu’s research project focuses on the next-generation high-throughput 3D microscopy for cardiovascular imaging.

The Future Leader Fellowships support cardiovascular researchers to strengthen their research capability and become leaders in their domains. Researchers are provided a salary along with project funding to achieve high impact results.

Professor Lu’s project was also recognised as one of the most innovative Future Leader Fellowship applications, which won him the Heart Foundation Paul Korner Innovation Award and an additional $20,000. His project was one of two projects selected out of the total 41 applications.

The Heart Foundation funds heart research across a diverse range of topics including biomedical, public health and health services. These funds are awarded to the brightest researchers to help investigate the causes, treatment and prevention of heart diseases.
