Welcoming our students to Semester 2

The Australian National University (ANU) welcomed new and returning students this week, as we get ready for Semester 2 2023.

As part of Orientation Week, or ‘O-Week’, the ANU College of Engineering, Computing and Cybernetics (CECC) hosted a welcome on the lawns of the Birch Building for students from all the disciplines that make up our College.

It was so great to see so many new and returning faces show up for the event. We had an fantastic turnout of people supported by our incredible student groups and staff, here to give you a strong launching pad into the CECC community.

New starters had the opportunity to meet academics and student leaders for the first time, and discover the amazing opportunities available to them during studies.

College Interim Dean Professor Stephen Eggins congratulated the new cohort on starting their study journey and encouraged them to take part in other O-Week activities to learn about the places, faces, and opportunities at our University.

Many of College’s student-led organisations were on hand to recruit new members and to answer questions about studying at CECC, including student representatives from the ANU Computer Science Association, ANU Engineering Students Association, ANU Formula Sport, Engineers AustraliaANU Fifty50, and a partnership with the Australian Signals Directorate in our ASD-ANU Co-Lab.

Throughout the Semester 2 2023 O-Week, our College also hosted student welcome events, School induction sessions, and precinct tours. There’s also a CECC Concierge Service for drop-in enquiries where our current students are offering concierge services.

Many thanks to all the professional and academic staff, the teachers, educators, and friendly faces on campus who have helped us to start the semester on such a positive note.

Welcome to the newest members of our community
