Nominations open for CECS interactive teaching and student experience awards - Semester 1 2021

During Semester 1 2021, ANU College of Engineering & Computer Science (CECS) staff and students used a range of strategies, continued innovation and generosity of spirit, to engage and support students on-campus and remotely.

We learnt from 2020, that interactive and engaged activity supported students in engaging with academics and their peers and supporting their educational endeavours. “The most important thing we have learned from student feedback is that regardless whether they are on or off campus, it makes a huge difference to their learning and engagement if classes are interactive”, states Professor Grady Venville, Deputy Vice-Chancellor (Academic). “All classes should include interactive activities; for example, students create and share ideas, collaboratively develop responses to challenging questions, argue about and debate concepts, or participate in authentic work-based projects with our talented staff and their student peers.”

Support of students’ learning extends beyond the classroom and involves all members of the College Community. The Interactive Teaching and Student Experience Awards are your opportunity to nominate staff, students or teams who contributed to experiences that enable students to be the best they can be, encouraging positive interactions.
